Dawie is one of South Africa’s most respected economists. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics (cum laude) and specialises in fiscal and monetary policy. Dawie has been the Chief Economist of Efficient Group Limited since 2002. He brings invaluable exposure to the Group through his active presence in both the local and foreign media and was awarded the prestigious “Economist of the Year” award in 2016, by Sake24. Dawie also acts as a Director at Efficient Group, and Efficient Private Clients.
Etienne started his career as a portfolio manager at De Witt Morgan Securities in 2003. In 2004, he became a CFA charter holder and decided to join Equity Derivative Investments as a derivatives trader. A year later he was appointed Risk Manager for the international markets at Global Trader. He left the company in 2007 to cofound UAM. At UAM he fulfilled the roles of Director and Chief Investment Officer, leading the team to produce market-beating returns. UAM was acquired by EFPC in 2016.
Francois is an expert in global and local macro-economics, but also fulfils the role as head of sales at Efficient Private Clients (EFPC). He has published in international journals on policy modelling and rand exchange forecasting techniques and frequents both the print and digital media. Francois holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Pretoria and a Global MBA from IE Business School.
Riaan is the Chief Investment Officer of Efficient Private Clients (EFPC). His expertise includes identifying global investment opportunities and providing company specific investment views. Before joining EFPC, Riaan worked at Sasfin Wealth as an international equity analyst and portfolio manager on the Sasfin Global Equity Fund. Riaan holds a BCom honours degree from the University of Pretoria and is a CFA charterholder.
Eunice is an Investment Specialist at EFPC where she analyses customer objectives and identifies the correct investment opportunities to meet their financial goals. She also helps with business development by overseeing the leads process. Before joining the EFPC team she was an Assistant Wealth Manager at PSG, and has more than 8 years of industry experience. She is a certified financial planner and holds multiple postgraduate diplomas.
Renier started his career as a data analyst at PwC in 2015. To pursue his passion for investments he joined Sasfin Securities in 2016 as a Junior portfolio manager and stockbroker. Here, Renier was largely responsible for managing the relationships and share portfolios of high net worth individuals. He also co-managed Sasfin’s European income and growth portfolio. Renier joined EFPC in 2020 where he has been involved in co-managing the Global as well as Best View portfolios.
Sifiso started his career in 2018 as an intern paraplanner at Efficient Wealth. During his internship he acquired both investment management and financial planning expertise. In 2019 he was appointed by Efficient Private Clients as an assistant portfolio manager. Here, he focuses on company research with a specific focus on commodities and JSE listed resource counters. Sifiso holds a Bcom (Hons) degree in Financial Management and is currently enrolled in the CFA program.
Diaan is the Managing Director of Naviga Solutions a discretionary fund manager within the Efficient Group. He has held this position since 2014. Before joining Naviga, he was a portfolio manager at Verso Multi-Manager. Diaan has more than 13 years’ of multi manager experience and holds a B.Com (Hons) degree from the University of Stellenbosch and is a CFA charterholder.
Pierre started his career at Old Mutual gaining experience in actuarial product development and marketing. He joined Momentum in 1997 as the head of investment products. In the early 2000’s he transitioned into investment management, to later gain more than 10 years of multi manager experience. In 2007 he was a founding member of Momentum Investment Consulting, overseeing more than R22 billion in AUM. During this time Pierre was also the lead portfolio manager on a range of top performing portfolios. In 2013 Pierre left the Momentum Group to co-establish Boutique Investment Partners where he now acts as managing director and a senior portfolio manager.
Tavonga completed actuarial studies in 2005 before joining Metropolitan Collective Investments. Here, he helped to establish a retail multi-manager offering and grew AUM from R5 mil to R6 bn in 5-years, whilst raking in a Raging Bull Award. In 2011 Tavonga passed his actuarial fellowship exam and assumed ownership of the investment philosophy and process for Momentum Investment Consulting (MIC), a team who then managed roughly R9 bn in AUM. At MIC the team won many prestigious awards and by 2013 had grown its AUM to R22 bn. After a restructuring in 2013 the Group had R150 bn in AUM and Tavonga was appointed as Chief Investment Strategist. He eventually left to co-establish Boutique Investment Partners where he currently acts as Chief Investment Officer.
Mitsie joined Momentum Wealth in 1998 where she fulfilled various roles in the Client Liaison and Offshore Investment departments. She gained valuable experience in dealing with asset swap transactions and foreign investment management companies. In 2001 she joined Momentum Multi Managers, and in 2002 she became a member of their investment team. She gained more than 10 years of investment experience as a Research Analyst and later became a founding member of Momentum Investment Consulting. At the end of 2013, Mitsie left the Momentum Group, and joined Boutique Investment Partners, as a Senior Research Analyst.
Eben is an Investment Analyst at Naviga Solutions, where he focuses on analysis, due diligence, and portfolio management. He also assists in product development and market research. Eben completed his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Stellenbosch, majoring in Investment Management, Financial Management, and Statistics. He also completed his BCom (Hons) degree in Financial Analysis and is a CFA® charterholder.
Christiaan works as an Investment analyst within the Efficient Group. He is a key member on various investment committees and assists with deep analysis on a variety of asset-classes and investment opportunities. Christiaan also plays an integral role at Naviga as a portfolio specialist. He completed his Honours degree in Financial Analysis at the University of Stellenbosch and is currently a CFA level 3 candidate.
Annika obtained a degree in Financial Planning at the University of the Free State in 2010 and her Postgraduate diploma in Financial Planning (CFP) in 2015. She started her career in the financial services industry in 2011 as a financial planner. In 2015 she joined Naviga Solutions where she acts as an Investment Consultant. She specializes in the research and construction of investment portfolios to deliver solutions for their diverse group of clients.
Yolandi is an Investment Consultant at Naviga Solutions. She studied BComm Management Sciences at the University of Stellenbosch and thereafter completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning. She is also a Certified Financial Planner charter holder. Yolandi is a financial planning expert and assists the team to create personalised financial plans for a wide ranging client base.
Emile is a registered Certified Financial Planner. He holds a BCom in Economics from the University of Stellenbosch and a Post-Graduate Diploma from Stellenbosch University Business School. He has also published economic review articles at reputable media houses. During his career he has acted as a Regional HSE & Risk Officer, Credit Risk Analyst and a Finance and Investment Consultant. Emile is currently fulfilling the roles as a Paraplanner at Naviga Solutions, specializing in Retirement and Investment planning.
